2. Course description If you're an experienced health & safety rep and would like to develop your understanding of principles and practices in the workplace further, then this Level 2 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety is the course for you. You'll get the opportunity to question the development and function of health and safety law, and discover how to build trade union organisation for health and safety. Using key sources of information on health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, you'll build evidence to support solutions for some of the priority problems in the workplace, and tackle those that workers currently face. A big part of the course will look at the principles of health and safety management and the role of unions, occupational services, and employers. You'll also look at the current law on health and safety, ways in which it can be improved and how trade unions can influence the development of new laws.
