The TV host or presenter is the protagonist of a television program. In its original form, the language of the TV presenter was essential, classic and extremely formal, with a style easily traceable in Italy in characters such as Corrado, Enzo Tortora, Pippo Baudo or Mike Bongiorno and in broadcasts such as the classic varieties of the sixties and seventies or in events such as the Sanremo Festival. The role of the television presenter has acquired over time more and more prestige and importance, and with the advent of new television and private televisions it has evolved by putting the television product in greater communication with the home audience; the role thus required greater empathy on the part of the presenter, which from then on has had the task of representing both the audience of the show and the television broadcaster on which it is broadcast in the same way. In this regard, two cases that occurred in 1986 on Italian television were emblematic: Raffaella Carrà, presenter of Domenica in, defended herself on live television from the press's accusations of having abandoned her suffering mother in hospital, while Enrica Bonaccorti, during her program Pronto, who plays? she announced her pregnancy to the audience; they were disruption events for Italian public television, which caused several controversies to the two presenters who followed a model of television conduction and relationship with the public that was changing.
