The qualification aims to assess learners’ knowledge and understanding of what is meant by Autism and the theories used in diagnosing the condition. You will look at common misconceptions associated with autism and conditions that can co-occur.
COURSE CONTENT/MANDATORY UNITS
There are six units to complete in two workbooks:
1. Introduction to autism
2. Using a person-centred approach to support individuals with autism
3. Communication and social interaction in individuals with autism
4. Sensory processing, perception and cognition in individuals with autism
5. Supporting positive behaviour in individuals with autism
6. Supporting individuals with autism to live healthy and fulfilled lives

Entry Requirements
This course is suitable for learners aged 18 and above.
Delivery and Assessment
You will be provided with your Induction paperwork, Workbooks and Assessment Books. You will agree with your assessor how you will meet all of the Learning Outcomes to complete the award. You will be allocated specific deadline dates to complete each Assessment Book. You will complete 2 workbooks of questions which will cover the award specification.
