Unit 826 - Using self contained breathing apparatus in hostile atmospheres

Overview
The course will comply with the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 so that candidates will be able to:

• interpret risk assessments
• plan to enter structures with irrespirable atmospheres
• prepare breathing apparatus for use, observing duration indicators and user checks
• put on and wear breathing apparatus correctly, observing all fitting and performance checks
• work safely whilst wearing the apparatus
• conduct and maintain safety by carrying out continual risk assessments during work
• undertake all user tests and hygiene procedures on breathing apparatus on completion of the work

Suitable For
Candidates required to work in hostile irrespirable atmosphere when work has been assessed and classified as risk level NC4.
