Update Day for Moving and Handling Advisors

All moving and handling advisors need to have regular study days to update their knowledge. Disabled Living advises that this update day is attended annually.

The format and content of this training day changes to reflect the latest information, equipment and professional guidance available, but in the recent past has included:

• Review of the 3rd Manual Handling Guidance from the College of Occupational Therapy
• Competency based manual handling training
• Complex risk assessments
• Handling pre-school children
• Using REBA
• Task analysis in equipment evaluation

There is also a mini-exhibition of the latest equipment.
