About this course
You will need an I.T. practitioner Qualification in Web Page Design and basic knowledge of HTML. Any previous but relevant experience of any programming language, or industrial equivalent experience in I.T. will be considered.

Introduction:
This course will equip you with the principles, knowledge and skills needed to design, create and maintain a series of web sites at an advanced level.
The course will be undertaken in a formal but relaxed classroom environment in one of the Information Technology building`s computer rooms and will be delivered using a combination of lectures, short talks, demonstrations and examples.
Study Mode & Location:
This 1 year course will last for 3 hours per week and will be held at Preston College, Fulwood Campus, St Vincent`s Road, Preston, PR2 8UR.
Course Content:
The course covers the fundamentals of advanced web site development using interactive tools to create, implement and test interactive pages. Appropriate graphics software will also be used to create and manipulate images. The course also will include:
- Advanced HTML Coding.
- Browser identification.
- Database manipulation.
- Web Site evaluation.
- User interaction.
Assessment:
Assessment will consist of a substantial end of course examination, plus a portfolio showing progress throughout the course.
Careers & Progression Opportunities:
Successful completion of the course will allow progression to additional Level 3 courses, a Foundation Degree in Computing or employment.

You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.
