Wine Appreciation Beginners
Your Course
The course is for beginners and aims to promote an interest in and appreciation of wine through a series of talks and most importantly tastings. It will encompass France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia. Six to eight wines will be tasted each evening, the cost of which will be shared among the group and will vary between 5-7 each week. Please bring two glasses and a white cloth and something to nibble.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the 10 week course you will have been given the opportunity to:
· Taste a number of different styles of wines.
· Taste the difference between wines made from important grape varieties.
· Compare wines made from the same variety around the world.
· Learn to know your own tastes and to buy wine without disappointment.
Your Tutor
Lyndsey Spellman studied for a degree in English Literature at Anglia Ruskin University before entering the wine trade. She worked as branch manager at Oddbins, Cambridge for 4 years and since 2004 has been a director at Cambridge Wine Merchants, where she regularly hosts tasting events for all abilities.
Lyndsey has passed the Wine and Spirits Education Trust examinations and acted as a judge at the International Wine Challenge in 2005. She is an enthusiastic tutor who has been teaching Wine Appreciation classes at Hills Road Sixth Form College since September 2006.
Day and time: Thursday 7.00- 9.00pm

Tuition fees: £90
Additional costs apply to the wines tasted
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
