This construction course provides the practical skills and knowledge required to successfully embark upon a progression route in college or a career in the Construction Industry as a Bench Joiner or Site Carpenter. The focus is based on the practical skills and underpinning knowledge required in the Construction Industry.
The Programme Content
6 units including Health & Safety, Knowledge of Information Level 1, Building Methods and Technology Level 1 plus the main Wood Occupations units, Woodworking Joints, Carpentry & Joinery and Tools & Portable Power Tools. All units are covered in theory and practical sessions.
Question paper test on our Virtual learning Environment for each unit.
Final synoptic practical assignment.
Key-skills in Communication and Application of Numbers at Level 1.
Group Tutorial and individual tutorials.
Progression / Careers
Full completion of the qualification will allow you to progress onto another construction course such as Diploma Level 2 (F/T) or NVQ Level 2 (must be employed) in either carpentry or joinery.
