Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery Level 1

What will I be learning?

During the early weeks of the course you will build up your skills in bench work and a series of practical exercises. Once achieved you can then progress onto a a series of practical tests. Once these tests have been completed, you will then be able to go on and study more specific carpentry and joinery exercises.

How will I learn?

When you have completed each stage of training you will be assessed in the subject. Credit is given for what you know and not just what you can do. You will be encouraged to produce a portfolio of work when assessment is taking place.

What else might I want to know?

You will be required to provide suitable clothing for practical workshop activities, basic stationery equipment and contribute towards the cost of trips and visits.

What can I do afterwards?

On successful completion of the Level 1 diploma you can progress onto the Level 2 diploma in Site Carpentry and joinery at South Devon College
