TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Who is the programme for? This programme is for adult learners aged 18 or over, who have been out of work for any period of time and are ready to move back into employment. This is also suitable for learners who have completed the Job Ready programme and who want to progress to a higher level qualification.

What will I study? You can choose from a selection of units from the Ed Excel certificate in Work skills qualification to suit your individual needs, including 'Applying for a Job', and 'Developing Personal Skills for Leadership'.

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? After an initial assessment, we will provide you with an Employment Action Plan which will have activities within it to suit your profile. You will be assessed in these activities through a range of means, including: Observations, Portfolios, Short Tests, Interviews or a combination of these methods. Some self study may be required.

Future prospects? On successful completion of the course you'll possess a nationally recognised qualification and will have developed your skills to help you progress into employment, or choose further study in a vocational area.

When will the programme start? The programme will commence in March 2009.

How long will it take? The programme will last for 13 weeks - 2.5 days per week - and will be offered on a roll on, roll off basis.
