Course Content

Optimising wound Care & Management. Wound classification, wound development and the healing process. This course emphasises the importance of accurate and systematic assessment which ultimately leads to better treatment options such as dressing choice. We address concurrent issues that may impact upon health, such as under-nutrition, illness, infection, the environment in which the care is carried out and the expertise required to provide the care.

The session demonstrates a wide range of products currently available for the treatment of each type of wound and how to identify and prevent the development of pressure sores. (Amorphous wound hydrogels, Hydrocolloid Dressings, Polyurethane Foam Dressings etc)
