Course programme

Yoga for Back Care

Experts now recognise that the increasingly sedentary lives that we lead contribute greatly to the back pain epidemic that is now being experienced in the Western world. Back pain is one of the most common medical problems, affecting 8 out of 10 people at some point during their lives. In these Yoga for Back Care classes, we will explore the therapeutic aspects of hatha yoga as a form of healing to our physical, mental and energetic body.

This is a series of small group classes, providing individual attention to each student and the back condition presented, whether to alleviate symptoms of discomfort, strengthen the back or simply to improve posture. In order to benefit fully from the course, it is suggested to have a one-to-one private consultation with the teacher prior to the start of the course.

Each person will be reviewed during the first class, prior to the practice. During the course we will also look at how to maintain healthy postures and how to apply this to our daily lives. Each class will end with restorative postures to alleviate any discomfort, promoting self-repair and healing within systems of our body.
