What will I study?

This course is for those who are in paid employment and are
responsible for supervising and organising activities to develop
young people in a variety of youth or community settings. Subjects
studied include: establishing relationships and maintaining a
dialogue with young people, working as an effective and reflective
practitioner and working in ways that promote equality of
opportunity, participation and responsibility.

This can lead to further training at Lewisham College on the NVQ
Level 3 Youth Work, Health and Social Work or Access to Social
Work.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to be employed as a youth worker or a paid
sessional worker. You will be required to provide a letter from
your employer to confirm your employment status. You will be
offered an assessment and interview and you are required to
complete a Criminal Records Bureau check before you start the
course.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
