Course Description
All College First courses include Vocational studies, English, Maths and IT. You may be involved in additional activities, ie visits and trips. You will join an induction to help you settle and it may be possible to take more than one vocational option.Awareness of personal and salon health and hygiene/safety is very important within the industry and will be a continual focus throughout your studies.

Entry Requirements
GCSEs: At least 4 GCSEs at Grade E one of which must be English. (Maths required for some subjects)

Modules Studied:

• Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Assist with salon reception duties
• Prepare and maintain the beauty therapy work area
• Assist with facial treatments
• Assist with nail treatments on the hands

Awarding Body: VTCT

Level: L1

Duration: 1 year

Attendance Modes: Day

Assessment: A range of methods will be used, including assignments, practical assessment and, for some courses, external tests and portfolio work.

Progression Routes: You can continue your studies onto a vocational course at Level 2 or choose to pursue employment.
