A knowledge of the food industry is essential. Previous qualifications such as the CIEH level 2 award or CIEH Level 3 award would be beneficial.

Course programme

The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Level 4 Award is relevant to those who a mangerial responsibility and accountabilty in either a food catering organisation or within the food manufacturing industry.

Delivery is by way of six taught classroom sessions (36 guided learning hours) and some home study will be required. Candidats will need to complete two written assignements and pass an examination in order to gain their qualification.
