About this Course:

This course is based on using both manual and computerised Payroll processes.

The course covers, in detail, understanding the importance of accuracy and security in performing any payroll task including PAYE and National Insurance calculations for employees and directors. Dealing with additional payments and allowances, via the Income tax system, such as Tax Credits, the payment of statutory payments for sickness, maternity leave, adoption pay and paternity pay and student loan repayments. Youwill learn how to apply the necessary calculations and preparation of both a weekly and monthly payroll and submitting payments to HMRC.

The computerised section of this course is based on using Sage 50 Payroll Professional software but if you are only planning on administering payroll for 10 or less employees we can base the course on Sage Instant Payroll.

Sage Instant Payroll. This basic package is designed for Sole traders and small businesses. The software can only be used for a single client and as such is not suitable for providing Professional Payroll services and tasks. Most employers, bookkeepers and accountants would need to represent more than one client and as such this software is not suitable.

Sage 50 Payroll Professional. The package is suitable for all companies as it is capable of dealing with unlimited employees and directors and for a professional bookkeeper or accountant can be used for multiple clients.

Our standard course is based on learning the Sage 50 Payroll Professional software as it eliminates the need for extra training. Once you have learned this package you will be able to easily adapt to Sage Instant Payroll and also be in a position to apply for jobs with the larger companies.

Due to the cost of the fully licensed software being in the region of £250.00 to buy we provide you with 180 days free use of the software for your studies. This is usually more than sufficient but we can extend this time in certain circumstances. You will also receive two Sage Business Partner certificates. One for each level of the Sage 50 Payroll Professional courses.

The alternative to this is that you base your ICB course on the Sage Instant Payroll software. In this case we will provide you with a fully licensed version of the Sage Instant Payroll software for the same price. You will also receive one Sage Business Partner certificate on completion of the Sage instant Payroll course.

The course is structured in a format that allows you to study in your own time at your own pace. We provide you with everything needed to complete your course and exam so that you can concentrate on your studies without having to worry about extra costs for materials or the inconvenience of arranging mock and full exams.
