This course will enable complete beginners to develop and practise drawing and painting skills with support and encouragement from an experienced tutor. HB, 2B, 4B, 6B pencils and an eraser are needed for the first session.

With regular practice, and guidance and encouragement from the tutor in basic drawing techniques, everyone can develop their skills and understanding. By the end of the course you should see a real improvement.
I used to draw and paint but I haven't done any for years - should I come to a beginners class?
If you are not feeling confident, you might find it useful to follow the course as a refresher before moving on to something more demanding. You could consider joining the Intermediate Drawing and Painting course, which gives students an opportunity to develop and practise those old skills.
What do I need to bring to the first session?
A few drawing pencils; HB, 2B, 4B 6B and an eraser. Basic materials such as paper and drawing boards are provided.
