There are no formal entry qualifications although learners will need to be over 19 years of age and be able to demonstrate at interview Level 2 competency in Literacy, a minimum of Level 1 - 2 in Numeracy and complete a written comprehension exercise. Motivation and determination to succeed.

This course offers an excellent basis for entry to university in a variety of disciplines. Pathway-specific subjects covered include: Sociological Perspectives, Criminology and Psychological Perspectives. Assessment is through a combination of assignments and examinations. Homework or private study is required.
The course is run over 33 weeks.The first 3 weeks focus on the development of appropriate study techniques. Successful completion of the unit assessment is required for progression. Breaks are in accordance with the normal College calendar.
