Keum-Boo & Gold Paste

Keum-boo is the traditional Korean technique of fusing gold to metal, in our case art clay silver. You will work with pure gold foil, which will fuse with the finished silver, you will also learn how to apply gold paste. In the morning you'll make a basic piece from silver clay and then fire it to white, after that well add the gold leaf.

You will be shown how to do this on a hot plate. After the gold is added we'll finish the pieces and you will have the opportunity to work with liver of sulphur, to further enhance your designs. Included in the cost price 20g art clay, 24kt fusing gold foil, gold paste, findings, jump rings, chain and ear wires. Tools are provided as well as a large library of books.

Refreshments are included, but please bring a packed lunch.
