Gail Walkingshaw is the Principal of the Edinburgh Therapy Academy and has a thriving complimentary therapy business in her home clinic. Once Gail finished her BSc(Hons) Dietetics from Queen Margaret’s College Edinburgh she started her therapy career with Judith Craig, the Founder of the School in 1999 as one of the very first students, studying Reflexology. Over the years she went on to gain qualifications in Holistic Massage, Aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage, Thermo-Auricular Therapy, Remedial and Sports Massage and finally a Diploma in Teaching Complimentary therapies.

Course programme

Course review:

A 9 month weekend course providing knowledge of Range of motion tests and special tests for each joint of the body allowing the therapist to give a much more specific muscular treatment and learning the us of PNF stretching and gentle exercises to prescribe to clients to help aid recovery.
A remedial course allowing the therapist to treat any muscular, joint injury not just sports related injuries.
One Written assignment and 100 hours of case study load.
of which 50 hours is client based and 50 hours is event based.
Exam is one multiple choice paper one 2hour written A&P paper and a practical exam externally examined by ITEC.
