Course programme

The Masters of Surgical Science is a 24-unit program.
There are clinical, coursework and research components to the degree delivered through weekly lectures and tutorials around fulltime clinical commitments.
Students can study full-time over one year or part-time over two years.
 Core courses - Surgical Science: Theory and Principles Research Project -Surgical Science: Research and Development Work Based Training -Surgical Science and Clinical PracticeCandidates must complete clinical/work placements to the value of 30 hours per week.
Program content incorporates presentations, audio and visual teaching materials, publications and group discussion, and is delivered using traditional lecture and tutorial methodologies with small tutorial groups, enabling a high level of student-teacher interaction.
The program has a large research component with mentoring from experienced research supervisors.
Students attend and participate in the Surgical Science Journal Club and Departmental Research Meetings, which are run by the University of Adelaide, Discipline of Surgery.
