Is it right for me?
New to the industry and looking for a general introduction to arboriculture? Learn via initial training at College, followed by additional assessment at your place of work. Introduction to Arboriculture can be run in conjunction with the Apprenticeship scheme.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What will I be learning about?

• Tree pruning
• Tree planting
• Cross'cut timber
• Pests and diseases
• Health and safety
• Stump removal
• Support arboriculture operations
• Dispose of residues

What is involved?
A practical course combining theory with the development of practical skills.

What materials are required?
Chainsaw boots and suitable outdoor clothing for practicals. Basic stationery and writing materials

What is next?
Certificate in Arboriculture

How will I be assessed?
Building a final portfolio of evidence.
