Description

The Level 3 NVQ in Youth Work is a qualification for full or part time youth workers or volunteers working directly with young people between the ages of 11 and 25.

Qualification overview

The level 3 qualification recognises the ability to gain, and where relevant apply, a range of knowledge, skills and understanding. The qualification provides an overview of where, how and why the candidate can make contact with young people, how to establish rapport and boundaries, and organisational procedures on health and safety. The qualification is structured to allow the candidate to work at their own pace, with their own assessor during working hours.

It is appropriate for people wishing to go to university, people working independently or in some areas, supervising and training others in their field of work.
