Overview
If you are a gamer, who wants a career in games design, development or creation, this introductory one-year Level 3 course will enable you to learn the skills of the industry. With an emphasis on conceptual design, using 3D animation, environments and modelling software to bring your creative ideas to life. You will need good computer and art or design skills in order to succeed on this qualification as it takes you through creative concepts and design principles. Entry Requirements
You will need four GCSEs at grade C or above which must include English. Alternatively you can progress from the Level 2 Diploma in Art or Media with a merit grade. You will be required to show evidence of artistic/creative ability such as a small art portfolio and/or written work. This is a one year course that is equivalent to 1.5 A levels. You will complete the 90 Credit Diploma course in your first year, and you can then progress onto our Extended Diploma qualification in your second year, in the same subject. This will help you to attain the optional units required to attain the full 3 A level equivalent qualification in your chosen subject.

Course Duration
One year – Full time.

Skills and Benefits
This is a creative course using technology skills, so you will improve both your design and IT skills whilst completing this course. You will also be studying in a creative environment.

Progression
This course prepares students for both Higher Education and Employment, through a challenging programme of lectures, workshops and design briefs. You will be required to complete our Extended Diploma Creative Media Production (Games Development) qualification in order to apply on at HE level.
