Who is the programme for? This programme is open to anyone who wishes to learn basic welding processes and gain a recognised qualification in this field.

What will I study? You will study four units of which "Related Studies" is compulsory. At least two welding process units must also be studied. Units of study for Stage 2 are as follows:- * Related Studies (Compulsory) * Manual Metal-Arc Welding * Metal-Arc Gas Shielded Welding * Fabrication Processes

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? Assessment takes place in the form of short written examinations together with the completion of practical test pieces.

Future prospects? This programme provides learners with the skills demanded by industry. On completion of this programme successful students can progress onto the Stage 3 qualification.

When will the programme start? This programme requires attendance at College for two evenings per week for one year. It operates on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 6.00pm - 9.00pm.

How long will it take? One year.

What about the Money? The cost for this programme is 177. In addition to programme fees an Awarding Body registration fee of 54 and examination fees may also be payable. You may be exempt from paying the full programme costs if you fall into one of our fee remission categories, please ask for details.
