- Minimum Numeracy Level: Level 2
Reading: You can read and understand the main points and ideas in different types of writing - for example magazine articles, newspaper stories or short stories. You can understand main ideas from a report, read from a website or college text book, etc. You can use what you have read to help you write an essay or make decisions. Writing: You can present information in different ways. You can use grammar, spelling and punctuation correctly. You can present your thoughts and ideas in a clear way that people can understand.
Interpret information: You can read and understand tables, charts, graphs and diagrams; read and understand numbers used in different ways; estimate amounts and proportions; make accurate observations and select appropriate methods to get the results you need. Carry out calculations: You can carry out calculations involving two or more steps, with numbers of any size, with and without a calculator; work with and convert between fractions, decimals and percentages; convert measurements between systems (e.g. pounds to kilograms); work out areas and volumes; work out dimensions from scale drawings; use proportions and calculate ratios where appropriate; compare sets of data of an appropriate size and use range to describe the spread within sets of data.

What will I study?
Subjects you will study include accountancy, law, economics, IT, mathematics, statistics and the skills necessary to follow a course in higher education.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught through lectures, examples, projects, assignments and tutorials.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed throughout the year, through case studies, project work, essays, timed essays and assignments as well as written examinations.

There will be access to a personal tutor to help you throughout the course. The College offers a comprehensive range of student services, including learning support, language support and guidance.
