Candidates whose ACS certificates have expired after five years must renew them via reassessment – it is not legal to work unsupervised on gas installations or appliances once the relevant certificate has expired. If you were assessed by ourselves (as BITC) you should have received a reminder letter – if not, let us know and we will amend our records accordingly.
We offer a full range of ACS domestic re assessment packages. Currently we are offering CCN1 and up to 4 appliances for £350 plus VAT.
A two-day refresher-training package is available covering the major changes that have occurred over the last four years. (Note - Category 1 applicants can sit re assessment without training if they wish).
If an applicant’s certificate is more than twelve months out of date, they will have to sit Initial Assessment again instead of reassessment.
Only assessments that have been previously certified can be renewed, and a copy of each core and element being renewed must be provided.
New entrants to the industry can follow the Approved Prior Learning route that on successful completion will lead to ACS Initial Assessment
