Course programme
You will develop an understanding of the more technical aspects of shooting a scene, whilst maintaining a focus on acting. You will learn to develop a truthful, emotional connection that can be captured through the camera lens. You will learn about castings and auditions for film, television and commercials and learn how to improve your technique. The course consists of theory lectures and practical workshops, where you can put your learning into practice. You will prepare and work on monologues, duologues and scenes from a range of television and film genres, building confidence as a performer and in particular as a screen performer. Work will not take place in a television studio, but will be with the use of a handheld camera. You will be monitored and will receive immediate feedback on your achievements. You do not produce a showreel as part of this course.
