Advanced Apprenticeship in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning - Day Release

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning builds on the skills and competencies that are gained through the Intermediate Apprenticeship in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning, developing advanced level skills. Four pathways are offered: -Refrigeration - Refrigeration service and maintenance -Air conditioning -Air conditioning service and maintenance Each pathway has units relating to; organisation of resources in building services engineering and electrical work on RAC systems and components. Individual pathways have units relating to working on halocarbon fluorinated RAC systems, as appropriate to the pathway selected. You will achieve a City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma as appropriate to the pathway selected. Unless exempt on entry, you will also achieve Level 2 Functional Skills qualifications in English and maths and a Level 1 Functional Skills ICT qualification.You will learn through a combination of on- and off-the-job training. You will attend college one day per week during term time and spend the rest of your time earning and learning in the workplace. You will be assessed on a continuous basis through a combination of knowledge and practical assessment activities, including assessment of activities in the workplace. The Apprenticeship has a minimum duration of 24 months unless you are aged 19 or older and have undertaken relevant prior learning. Those progreessing from an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Refrigeration or Air Conditioning will typically take 12-18 months to complete this Apprenticeship. Your progress will be continuously monitored and supported by an Apprenticeship Achievement Officer.
