This is a practically orientated course, which has been designed to satisfy the demand for training in hand soldering skills.

Course Content

  • Specialised soldering tools and equipment
  • Practise or refresh, as appropriate, skills covered in the Intermediate Soldering Course
  • Introduction to soldering/desoldering techniques for fine pitch Surface Mount Devices (SMD’s) including Ball Grid Arrays (BGA’s).
  • Practise at reworking SMD Printed Circuit Boards making use of conventional soldering techniques and specialist rework stations.
  • Quality standards and Inspection techniques.
  • Rectification of faulty solder joints
