Course programme
You will be employed in a relevant job role, focussing on bookkeeping and accounting. You will earn a wage whilst gaining skills and qualifications employers need and value. This apprenticeship could help you find sustained employment working in an accounts department, helping a business or organisation manage their money properly.
Running a business involves a lot of financial activities, from expenses and bills to taxes and payroll. Accountants keep track of all these things, and more, to make sure that businesses - both large and small - manage their money properly. Having a business brain, as well as a way with numbers, is a good start if you want to work in accounting.
The Apprenticeship will include:
- Certificate in Accounting (AAT),
- English - level 1, (unless GCSE achieved within three years)
- maths - level 1, (unless GCSE achieved within three years)
- Employee rights and responsibilities.
Entry Requirements
You must have an employer who will support you through your apprenticeship and allow you time off to attend college. Many people find their own job or are already employed but if not, dedicated college staff can help you to find employment.
Job titles could include:
- accounts assistant,
- cashier,
- credit control clerk,
- purchase ledger clerk,
- sales ledger clerk,
- finance assistant,
- trainee accountant.
GCSE grade C or above in English language and maths
