Course programme
The Diploma is focused on patient care and direct chair side support for a range of treatments. This course is designed to deliver the detailed knowledge and skills needed to work as a key member of the dental team. The timescale for completing the apprenticeship is 18 months start to certification but this can be completed after 1 year providing all work and assessments have been completed
You will be required to complete 16 units in total. Areas covered on the course include:-
- Health, safety and security in the workplace
- Prepare and maintain environments and instruments for clinical dental procedures
- Oral Health
- Dental assessments/anatomy/charting
- Process dental radiographs
- Caries and periodontal disease
- Endodontics
- Fixed and removable prosthetics
- Minor oral surgery
- Develop one's own knowledge and practice
- First Aid
As a student of Oldham College you will have full use of all the college facilities
The Level 3 Diploma is a recognised GDC qualification which will allow successful learners to access the GDC register. It will also allow you to go onto complete post qualifications.
