About this course
An average of grade C for 3 or more GCSE's (at least one must be English), a minimum of a D grade for mathematics or a Level 2 Key Skills in Communication or/and Application of number, alternatively a successfully completed Level 2 programme with the minimum of a merit achieved. You may also be asked to demonstrate commitment and skills in an interview.

Description of the Course

Childrens care, learning and development can take place in a great variety of places: in daycare centres, crèches, playgroups, hospitals and community-based programmes, to name a few.

CACHE NVQ Level 3 in CCLD
Level 3 Certificate in CCLD
Employment Rights and Responsibilities
First Aid for Child Carers
KeySkills Level 2 in:
· Application of Number
· Communication
Additional Content:
Mandatory Units include:
· Develop and promote positive relationships
· Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children
· Promote childrens development
· Reflect on and develop practice
· Protect and promote childrens rights
· + 4 optional units
Assessment
Coursework, practical projects, assessments in the workplace, workshops assignments and an exam.
Who is the course for?
Anyone working a minimum of 16 hours per week paid employment in a childcare environment.

What can I do after this course?
On successful completion of Level 3, students may progress onto the Foundation degree in Childcare studies. Employment as a fully qualified nursery practitioner.
