About this course

A mature and motivated attitude is essential. All applicants need to be aged 18 or over on commencement of the course. The applicants attitude and suitability for the course will therefore influence selection. A minimum of 80% attendance is required by the Awarding Body.

Description

The qualifications requires 20 case studies to be undertaken.

All applicants need to be aged 18 or over
on commencement of the course.

Course Length
One Year (Two evenings)

What will I study?
The units are:

Unit 301 Principles and practices of Complementary & Alternative Therapies
UNit 303 Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology

How will I learn?
The course will be taught using a mixture of approaches, including demonstrations, directed learning, independent study, tutorials, internal and external assessments.

How will I be assessed?
All units are internally assessed. Additionally, Units 307 and 303 will be externally assessed.

A portfolio of assessment evidence will be developed and produced at the end of the course.

Where could it lead?
City & Guilds qualfications in Complementary Therapies, Relexology, Body Massage, Indian Head Massage and Beauty Therapy.

Employment/self employment as a qualified therapist in private practice, in a salon or in the health sector such as hospitals, hospices and health practices.
