About this Course . . Level 2 allows you to experience a broad range of disciplines, including: Painting 3D Design/Sculpture Graphics Illustration Fashion Textiles Computer Based Art & Design Photography Printmaking The programme is delivered through practical studio based activity together with research into contemporary and historical design practice. There is a focus on the development of analytical drawing skills and transferable skill acquisition.This course will help you to fulfil your creative potential in a friendly and supportive environment, whether you want to go into employment or prepare for study at a higher level. Functional skills or GCSEâs in English and Maths are part of the core programme of study. Students who have not achieved a A*-C grade in English and Maths will be required to study the appropriate level as part of their main qualification. More information

Additional information
To start on this course you need:
Either
Two GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and an art or design subject
or
a relevant Level 1 qualification (with full achievement of appropriate Functional Skills qualifications).
You will need to show a portfolio of your work at interview.
If your qualifications are lower or higher than the above:
- Students who do not have the above qualifications could start by doing a year on the Level 1 course instead, before applying to move on to this Level 2 course. Click here for Level 1 course.
- Students with at least 4 GCSEs at grades A*-C could start on the Level 3 course instead. Click here for Level 3 course.
