The course is about how autism (including Asperger’s syndrome) impacts on lives. We will explore the different trajectories and traits of autism, how the condition affects people and what might help to mitigate the challenges and build upon the strengths associated with being neuro-diverse.

The course facilitator trained as an art psychotherapist, has worked in the mental health sector, has an autistic son and is herself autistic.

Course programme

An overview of the autism constellation, with exercises to give a taste of how autism can feel from the inside.
- How and why autistic people experience emotions differently and communicate differently
- How and why autistic people respond differently to information in the environment
- Good communication between autistic and non-autistic people.

Some pre-course reading may be supplied but this is optional. The course is taught using a variety of methods including, group work, discussions, and presentation.
