Level: This is a Level 2, 2-Dimensional (2D) Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) course.

What is the Level 2 2D CAD course?
This course is for those who wish to learn how to use CAD which can be applied to a variety of environments.

The course on offer provides you with the Principles and Practice of 2D Computer Aided Design and is suitable for beginners.

Course topics

• Use and describe the most common commands
• Produce drawings for a wide range of uses
• Edit and make changes to drawings
• Use of hatching, text and layers
• Dimension drawings
• Plot and print out drawings

Software: Autodesk AutoCAD Teaching and Learning
The majority of the course is hands on and you will work at your own pace through a series of guided exercises in the tutorial book with the help of the tutor. You will have use of a computer in a well-equipped room. It will help your progress if you have access to an AutoCAD package outside of College to practise between lessons.

Assessment details
The outcomes from this unit will be assessed using evidence from two set assignments and an on-line multiple choice question paper.
