About this course

You will need to be friendly, outgoing and self-motivated and have a positive attitude towards customer service. You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a high standard of personal presentation, initiative, energy and enthusiasm with a strong commitment to team-work. You will need to be a minimum of 18 years of age by April 2010.

Who is the programme for? This programme is for anyone who whould like to work in the fast moving, exciting and challenging environment of an airport. It will allow you to build the knowledge and skills to enter work within a variety of ground handling roles including Check in, passenger services,security and dispatch.

What will I study? Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? Assessment for the diploma includes a varitey of methods including : Role Plays,Internally and externally set case studies and senarios, short answer questions, projects, report writing and portfolio work

Future prospects? Successful candidates will be offered the opportunity to undertake an interview for a position as a passenger service agent with Servisair at Liverpool Airport. This would be the ideal platform to launch you Air Industry Career. Within Servisair and indeed the many companies operating within the airport, there a number of routes you may take to develop your career. From working you way to be a supervisor or eventually a trainer, to working on the ticketing desks or becoming a flight dispatcher to name a few.

When will the programme start? The programme will start in September 2009 and complete by April 2010.

How long will it take? You will attend college 4 days per week for a minimum of 19 hours of study.
