The objectives of aviation first aid training are to enable the crew member to assess a situation and condition by observing the signs, symptoms and where possible by eliciting any applicable medical history of the casualty.
To make a diagnosis on the information they have collated, to administer appropriate treatment immediately and to maintain treatment of the casualty until professional medical help takes over.

The objectives are realised through a combination of lectures, case studies, discussions and practical hands on training.
