A variety of assessment methods is used including: presentations case studies portfolio reports examinations Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check {if "horizontal" == 'horizontal'} Student success story: Phil Hewitson Studying the Foundation Degree in Aviation Management & Operations at The Aviation Academy gave me a fantastic understanding of how the aviation industry functions. The vast range of subjects taught on the course varied from airline management through to how to fly. I was impressed by the extensive knowledge of the tutors and how helpful they were. The final part of the course was most beneficial to me as it involved undertaking a three month work placement. I applied to work within the Air Traffic Control department at Leeds Bradford Airport as my dream job was to become an Air Traffic Controller. Just before I had finished my work placement I was offered a position at the airport as an Air Traffic Control Assistant which I obviously jumped at. A year later I began training to become an Air Traffic Controller and I qualified in October 2013. {if "VLPH0001"}
