However, entry qualifications are flexible and applications are welcomed for mature candidates and those with industrial experience. Students whose first language is not English should have achieved a minimum English language standard of IELTS 6.5. Alternatively students may be admitted with IELTS 6.0 if they attend a compulsory five week pre-sessional English course,..."

This course aims to develop production engineers who will be able to apply technology, business and management skills to respond to the demands of the industry for operational excellence.

This is an ideal course for technical students such as mechanical engineers, who wish follow a management career in factory operations and require additional production knowledge.

You will have access to the expertise within the Future Manufacturing Applied Research Centre and the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (a collaboration with industry: UNIPART).

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

On this course you will develop the skills necessary to design and develop lean and competitive manufacturing facilities as well as apply continuous improvement techniques to identify waste. You will learn to identify opportunities for the application of new materials and processes and evaluate appropriate production control system. You will develop the skills to assess manufacturing issues with regards to strategic and financial implications as well as work effectively in a team environment.

  • Metrology, Quality and Engineering Analysis;
  • Global Lean and Agile Operations;

  • New Product Introduction Group Project;

HOW WILL THIS COURSE BE TAUGHT?

This course will be delivered using lectures and tutorials. Collaboration with industry will be encouraged through the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME) and the New Product Introduction Group Project will give the opportunity to work on real life case studies.
