Course Content: Throughout this course you will learn how to maintain vehicles to a high standard through introductory modules, including: Health and Safety; Engineering Equipment and Materials; and Vehicle Refinishing

Learners will -

· Explore the responsibility of employer and employee, and the requirements of basic Health and Safety legislation. They will identify workshop hazards and basic safety procedures

· Identify different materials and their properties. They will learn how to select and correctly use hand and power tools.

· Investigate bodywork and materials preparation, using correct abrasives, masking materials and different refinishing techniques. Learners will also identify and rectify paint defects and carry out surface enhancement.

Special Features: Practical OEhands on� sessions working on live vehicles.

Course Format: 2 Day per week - 09:00 till 16:30

Progression: Entry to IMI Technical Awards in Motor Vehicle Service and Repair, Paint Refinishing or Body Repair.
