This extended course is perfect if you want a degree in Event Management but don’t have the standard entry requirements.

We prepare you for your degree during the Foundation year, bringing you up to speed with academic skills and a firm grounding in the subject. You can then go on to study the full undergraduate degree.

About this course

Our BA Event Management degree will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to thrive in an industry that contributes an estimated £36 billion to the UK economy. And you’ll be learning just a few miles from some of the capital’s most famous venues, including the O2 Arena and the Olympic stadium.

You’ll gain an in-depth understanding of the theoretical side of event planning, development and management, and this will be backed up by site visits to gain a practical understanding of how to run events.

You’ll learn about the business principles underpinning the industry, with modules that cover marketing, finance and the law, as well as people and resource management.

The event industry is thriving. Social events like music festivals, pop-up shops and street food markets have never been more popular, while formal gatherings like weddings, conferences and congregations will always be in demand.

The service sector is the largest sector in the world’s economy and short of good quality managers – exactly the skills gap that this course is designed to fill The course will give you the skills and experience you need to implement large-scale events, while giving you the industry contacts and guidance that will help you make the first step into a rewarding career.

OPTIONAL PLACEMENT YEAR (FOR INTERNATIONAL EVENTS STUDENTS)

This course offers the opportunity of year-long placement between years two and three. If you choose to take this option, you’ll spend your third year on a placement with a relevant company or organisation, adding valuable practical experience to your growing academic knowledge.

The extra placement year means it will take four years to complete your studies, instead of three.
