PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
What can I expect on the course?
The course will provide you with a structured opportunity to examine the current issues in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It will allow you to develop your academic skills at Degree level. The course is based on the accumulation of learning credits for successfully completed modules. A range of modules is available and these are delivered according to course members' interests and numbers on the course, and availability of staffing. These modules deal with specific aspects of post 14 education.
How is the course structured?
You will study eight compulsory modules per level of the course (this gives 240 CATS points, which in addition to the Initial teacher Training qualification gives a total of 360 points = a full Honours Degree)
How will I be assessed?
All modules are assessed through coursework which is negotiated with each module tutor and is based on a topic that you feel is relevant and useful to you in your role at work. There are
no examinations. The Dissertation (8,000 words) takes the form of practice-based research that students design and implement.
