- National Progession Award (NPA) in Bakery at SCQF Level 4; OR
- Another NPA in a related subject area, eg NPA in Professional Cookery at SCQF Level 4; OR
- National 5 Hospitality or Practical Cake Craft; OR
- Three National 4 qualifications (or Standard Grades at General Level) or equivalent, to include English and maths (or Level 4 literacy/numeracy units) and one from home economics, food technology or hospitality or, a related subject; OR
- Three years' work experience in a commercial bakery.
