Having taught at many venues in the UK, I find that I always looked forward with great anticipation to teach for Sue. It is difficult enough to run a massage school in a large metropolitan area, but Sue provides a great service to our community through her own teaching. She has a sincere passion for providing the best education available in a caring and professional atmosphere. I wish all schools were so organized and dedicated and recommend the There Training Centre very highly,

I've had the pleasure to work with Sue Lincoln at Therapy Training Centre on several occasions, and find her to be dedicated, caring, intelligent, and truly interested in helping her students become better therapists. The school is a professional setting that provides students the opportunity to learn and practice techniques. Yorkshire is lucky to have Sue providing the service she gives.
Noah Karrasch, developer and instructor of CORE* Bodywork, advanced certified Rolfer, author of Meet Your Body and Freeing Emotions and Energy Through Myofascial Release, Missouri, USA.

About this course
The objectives of the course are to understand the theoretical and practical application of Balinese Massage and be able to perform a full body massage.
This course is intended for fully qualified Massage therapists who have undertaken a level 3 diploma in Massage and completed a level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology
Massage qualification
School certificate which is recognised by all major insurers and Professional Associations.
Therapy Training Centre was developed after it was discovered that there was a lack of expert training in the area, leading to recognised qualifications in Training Courses in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Human Anatomy and membership of recognised professional bodies in the therapies offered, and therefore is responding to the need for high quality training in the Yorkshire area.
The Centre offers an open and caring atmosphere, which engenders feelings of enjoyment in learning, and an awareness of self-development and aims to provide programmes of extensive practical and theoretical studies in each of the courses offered.
Therapy Training Centre provides accredited courses of Aromatherapy and Allied Practitioners' Association (A.A.P.A.), who accredit the Anatomy and Physiology, Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy courses. The Centre’s status allows its graduate members of the AAPA to register with the CNHC as the AAPA is recognised by the CNHC for the verification of aromatherapy, reflexology and massage.
The Centre also offers a comprehensive range of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
Students will cultivate an understanding of complementary health care from a holistic standpoint and develop the ability to evaluate and analyse complementary therapies in the framework of allopathic medicine.
A variety of books, journals and articles on health related studies are available for use within the premises.

Course programme
Originating on the Island of Bali, the Balinese massage therapy is one of a number of ancient traditional massage techniques of Indonesia which has been carried down from one generation to another as a method of curing a wide variety of complaints.
The Balinese massage is unique in that it brings together several alternative medicine practices such as massage therapy, acupressure, and reflexology with the use of essential oils scented with the striking aromas of jasmine, rose, sandalwood, coconut or frangipani into a single massage session.
As is true with most massage techniques, the Balinese massage strives to reach the ultimate state of relaxation of the body and the mind. What sets it apart is that the Balinese believe that, in order to attain that heightened state of relaxation, blood and oxygen must flow freely and only then will the gi or energy flow without restraints.
The bouquet of fragrances used in the Balinese massage therapy is intended to induce relaxation, to promote indulgence of the body, and to drive away nervousness and unhealthy tension.
To reach the deeper tissues of the muscles, the Balinese massage therapist alternately applies vigorous kneading, cross fibre mobilization, and skin rolling with gentle motions to muscles of the body. To enhance results with long lasting effects, robust acupressure movements such as hardy press point and strong palm pressure are generously applied in addition to the standard massage techniques.
It is due to the inherent intensity of this form of massage that this therapy is so successful in reaching deep into tense and strained muscles to sooth and calm their spasms.
Balinese massage therapy is quite frequently prescribed for sports injuries as well as for stiff and achy joints due to various injuries or ailments, for easing migraines and lesser headaches, for relieving sleep deprivation and insomnia, for mitigating chronic and acute breathing maladies due to allergies and asthma, for boosting blood circulation and the lymphatic system, as well as for alleviating stress and easing anxiety and depression. In essence, the Balinese massage is a rigorous, yet lavish, therapeutic system that aims to bring the body and mind in full synchronization of optimal health, well being, tranquility and spiritual renewal.
