Basic Fire delegate, December 2006 Course Duration: SSG offer this training as a ½ day course. Course Objectives: On completion of training, delegates will:  Understand the requirements of the Regulatory Reform Order and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974  Understand the principles of fire risk assessments  Appreciate how fire spreads and methods of extinguishing  Understand the need for fire plans and what action to take in the event of fire  Have practical ability to use water, CO2 foam and powder extinguishers and fire blankets. Methodology: Formal training sessions, highly participative classroom-based discussions, practical exercises & coaching. Basic Fire Course Programme: Session One  Introduction - course objective and aims  Insight into and implications of the Regulatory Reform Order and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974  How fire spreads  Methods of extinguishing fire Session Two  The company fire plan  Action on discovery of fire  Evacuation stages and assembly points  Briefing the fire officer  Fire extinguisher BS EN3 - 1997 European Standard  Other fixed fire fighting protection equipment Assessment and Certification: Delegates will be assessed on their input during the practical exercise and their feedback. Course certification lasts 3 years. Venue: Courses are delivered throughout the year at our Plymouth Training Centre. Private Courses: Private courses can be can be arranged for clients either at our training centres or at a suitable venue of their choice in the UK, however, venues must be able to accommodate the practical elements of the training programme. Course Fees
Open Courses - Courses are delivered throughout the year at our regional training centres. The cost per delegate is £95.00 plus VAT. The Training Bundles fee per delegate is £75.00 plus VAT (See Training Bundles Leaflet for more information).
Private Courses - If you have 6 or more delegates a private course at a venue of your choice may be a more suitable and cost effective option
