Suitable for: Mature Career Changers wanting to enter the industry, Trainee scaffolders and scaffolders working in the industry with no qualifications who want and by law need a recognised qualification to start a lucrative career in the industry. Basic Scaffolding 1

Objectives:
At the end of the instruction the candidates will be able to:
  • Safely erect and dismantle:
    • - An independent scaffold with a return
    • - A mobile and static tower
    • - A putlog and a system scaffold with a return
    • - A birdcage scaffold
  • Inspect and erect ladders
  • Inspect and fix gin wheels
  • Tie knots and hitches common with scaffolding

  • Estimating basic scaffold quantities
  • Understanding drawings
  • Basic scaffold erection exercises
  • Basic scaffold alteration exercises

  • Inspection report procedure

Safety Requirements:
PPE must be worn at all times throughout the instruction.
