About this course

To gain the full ECDL qualification candidates need to have completed both parts 1 and 2. Although not essential, candidates are advised to complete the Level 1 before enrolling on Part 2.

Who is the programme for? The programme is designed for those who have completed a Level 1 qualification for example a Clait certificate or those people who have working knowledge of computers in the workplace.

What will I study? The following modules will be studied on this programme: A. Word Processing ECDL Module 3 B. Spreadsheets ECDL Module 4 C. Database ECDL Module 5 D. Presentation ECDL Module 6 E. Using IT

Entry to the Programme?

How is it assessed? All three modules are assessed via an online test. Each exam takes 45 minutes to complete. When all three exams have been taken, certification will follow. There is a small charge to re-sit an exam.

Future prospects? There are a wide range of progression opportunities available within the College, including access to HE or a range of level 3 programmes. Another route would include entering the job market.

When will the programme start? You can join this programme in September 06 or January 07.

How long will it take? The course will run for 36 weeks at 2 1/2 hours per week and is available at both our town Centre and Newton-Le-Willows sites.

What about the Money? Please note that fee remission applies to anyone on a means tested benefit, job seekers allowance, a programme designated as Skills for Life (SfL) or where someone is studying their first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 (aged 19 25). If you are under 19 on the 31 August 2009 you would not normally pay tuition or registration fees. If a programme is Full Cost then no fee remission is applicable.
