Description of the Course
After completing the course and passing the examination, candidates will be able to demonstrate an understanding of The Licencing Act 2003, The Rights and Powers of authorised parties, Policies and Procedures, Protection of Children, Duty of Care, Alcohol and the Body, Social Responsibilities and The Licencing Objectives.
Course content
Under the licencing act 2003, a single intergrated system has been introduced throughout England and Wales to regulate licensable activities. Licensable activities area defined as; Sale of Alcohol by retail, Provision of regulated entertainment, Late night refreshment, Supply of alchol on club premises. Under the act all licensable activities must be made or authorised by a Personal Licence Holder. One of the statutory requirements for the grant of a personal licence is the possession of an accredited qualification.
Assessment
A multiple choice examination is held on the day of course. The NCPLH lasts 40 minutes and consists of 40 multiple choice questions. You must answer 28 out of 40 in order to pass.

Any person wishing to take part in or authorise a licensable activity from a licenced premises, including; Restaurants, Off Licences, Convenience stores, Pubs and bars.

Candidates requiring additional needs e.g. a reader, or papers with increased font sizes should notify the college at time of booking. There is a £40 charge for a reader.

We can provide exam papers in Welsh, Chinese, Polish and Turkish for an additional fee of £20. Please notify the college at the time of booking.
